We may be the largest undergraduate institution in the state of Texas, but our tuition rates are some of the lowest around – especially considering the quality of education you’re getting.
The amount of tuition you pay is based on where you live and the number of credit hours you take in a given semester.
Dallas County residents pay $123 per three-hour class — that’s $41 per credit hour, or less than $500 for a full semester load of 12 credit hours.
If you live outside Dallas County, tuition rates are still comparatively low:

If you are a senior adult 65 or older, who lives in or owns property in Dallas County, you can enroll in up to six hours of credit courses each semester or summer session at no cost, classroom space permitting.
**For distance learning students who reside outside of Texas and have not maintained Texas as their residency of record a distance learning charge of $55 per credit hour (a minimum of $165 for 3 credit hours or less) shall be charged in addition to out-of-state or out-of-country tuition . This charge may be adjusted for third party payers who have established a distance learning partnership with the District and provide contracted services in lieu of payment of all or a portion of the distance learning charge.
We believe that the cost of education should never be an obstacle to starting or completing your college degree.
Financial aid is available from a variety of sources – including grants, veterans’ aid and loans – to help you pay for college.
All Financial Aid for Dallas TeleCollege will be handled through your DCCCD home college.
There are a number of scholarships available to DCCCD students, including the Ted Pohrte scholarship specific to distance learners (those enrolled in a 9000 section course).

If you are interested in applying for a student loan, please contact the campus you will be attending for that semester. It may be your designated home college, or you may be taking courses at another DCCCD college because they are unavailable that semester at your home college.

Ted Pohrte Scholarship
In memory of Ted Pohrte, a long-time advocate of the DCCCD’s distance learning program, a scholarship fund has been established through the DCCCD Foundation specifically for distance learning students.
Amount of Award: $225 per semester, maximum of $450 per year or two courses at in-county tuition cost for FA and SP tuition only.
